It is one of the most important proteins in the body. It is abundant in the skin and throughout the locomotor system (bones, cartilage, tendons, ligaments, muscles), as well as in the teeth and gums, the cornea of the eye, the blood vessels, the viscera and the tissues.
In some tissues, collagen may be a gel (in the vitreous of the eye), in others it is rolled into fibres (in tendons). Several types of collagen can be distinguished depending on their effect on a particular organ.
- Type I collagen is found in the dermis, tendons, ligaments, bones, internal organs and gums.

Collagen synthesis in skin
Type I collagen in the skin is produced by cells called fibroblasts. These are connective tissue cells in the dermis that are responsible not only for the production of the collagen matrix but also for the synthesis of elastin and hyaluronic acid in the skin. Fibroblasts are sensitive to physical and chemical stimuli that can trigger fibroblast activity and proliferation. The activation of fibroblasts leads to an increase in the production of its own collagen.
Collagen in the locomotor system
Type II collagen is one of the most important supporting proteins of cartilage tissue. It accounts for about 50% of the dry weight of cartilage and determines the mechanical properties of articular cartilage, in particular its strength and elasticity. Collagen tripeptides are the source of the building material necessary for the regeneration of articular cartilage, post-cartilage bone tissue, other joint tissues, the articular capsule, tendons and ligaments. They influence the metabolism of articular cartilage and bone cells, enhance collagen synthesis, prevent further loss of cartilage, improve joint mobility and pain relief, and increase bone density.
Dr.OHHIRA® collagen contains 7.75 g of low molecular weight* collagen types I, II and III and collagen tripeptides, enzymatically hydrolysed from the scales, skin and bones of free-floating Red Snapper.
This is a natural substance that the body produces itself and uses to lubricate the joints and keep the skin and organs moist. In the human body, it binds with water molecules to form a viscous gel-like substance. Hyaluronic acid is most abundant in nervous, integumentary and connective tissues, but is found in smaller amounts in almost every cell in the body. Hyaluronic acid naturally decreases in the body over time.
Dr.OHHIRA® oral collagen formula contains as much as 93% pure low molecular weight hyaluronic acid, extracted by a sustainable natural biofermentation process.
This is a connective tissue protein that is part of the composition of tissues with elastic properties. Large amounts of elastin are found in the lungs, large arteries and elastic ligaments. Smaller amounts are found in the skin, ear cartilage and other organs. Elastin is produced naturally in the human body until about the age of 25 and disappears completely by the age of 40-50.
Dr. OHHIRA® oral collagen formula contains 5 mg of low molecular weight elastin extracted from the skin, scales and bones of free-swimming Pacific Cod.
OM-X® SYNBIOTIC EXTRACT FERMENTED FOR 5 YEARS
OM-X® 5-year fermented extract contains plants grown naturally in Japan, rich in trace elements, vitamins and valuable nutrients: FRUIT and BERRIES (plums, goji berries, figs, blueberries, red sotwaras, scented mandarins, MUSHROOMS (maitake) and shiitake mushrooms, Brazilian agaric), DUMBLES and SEA HERBS.
OM-X® extract is produced using Japanese traditional fermentation-based technology. Throughout the year, plants that grow naturally in Japan are collected and placed in special containers. They are layered and stirred continuously for one year until they gradually turn into a homogeneous thick mass. To speed up fermentation, good gut bacteria belonging to the strains Lactobacillus, Bifidobacterium and S.thermophilus are added. The mass continues to mature for a further 4 years.

Intake: one course of use consists of 10 bottles to be consumed over 3 weeks. It is recommended to take one bottle (20 ml) once a day for the first 5 days, preferably in the evening. Then, after two days, start a second pack. Take one bottle a day, every three days. If desired, it can be taken with water. 3-4 courses per year are recommended. When the bottle is opened, consume immediately.
In rare cases, discolouration of the ingredients or sedimentation on the bottom of the bottle may occur, but this does not affect the quality of the product. In case of sedimentation, shake the drink before consumption. Suitable for use during lactation. We recommend that you consult your doctor regarding the use of hyaluronic acid during pregnancy.
