ICONFIT Sleep Capsules contain highly effective natural herbal extracts of valerian and balm, the amino acid L-theanine, melatonin, magnesium and vitamin B6. The pace of life is often very stressful, so it is important to get a good night's rest. Sleep deprivation causes the brain and body systems to stop functioning normally. Sleep deprivation can seriously impair quality of life. It is therefore very important to pay special attention to sleep.

Natural extracts of herbs such as valerian and lemon balm are known in folk medicine as calming herbs to help with stress and sleep disorders. Valerian (Valeriana officinalis) plays an important role before and during the first phase of sleep, when the body needs to calm down, relax and drift off to sleep in order to move into the second phase of sleep. Melissa officinalis has traditionally been used to improve various cognitive processes, reduce stress and anxiety.

Magnesium is well known as a muscle relaxant and a supplement that promotes deeper sleep. Magnesium helps to maintain normal psychological functions, nervous system function, energy metabolism and electrolyte balance.

Vitamin B6 helps to maintain normal energy metabolism, physical function and normal nervous system activity. Vitamin B6 also contributes to the regulation of hormonal activity by stimulating the production of serotonin and melatonin, which are needed for healthy and restful sleep.

L-theanine is an amino acid found naturally in tea leaves. L-theanine can positively affect key neurotransmitters (compounds that carry nerve impulses) related to stress, sleep, mood, attention and memory. L-theanine helps to maintain a balance in the neurotransmitter system, thus reducing mental, emotional and physical disturbances caused by excessive stress.

Melatonin is a hormone produced by the brain in response to darkness. It helps to restore circadian rhythm (the natural, internal process that regulates the sleep-wake cycle, which repeats approximately every 24 hours) and sleep. Melatonin shortens the time it takes to fall asleep (1 mg of melatonin just before bedtime has a positive effect). Melatonin also alleviates time zone change syndrome (beneficial effects are achieved with a minimum dose of 0.5 g taken before going to bed on the first day of the trip and a few days after arriving at the destination).

The importance of sleep for our body. Sleep is an important physical and mental process. When the body rests, energy is conserved and blood pressure drops, heart rate and breathing slow down and body temperature drops. Here are some tips on how to improve your sleep:

  • Try to refrain from caffeine and energy drinks in the afternoon or at least a few hours before bedtime.
  • Keep to a sleep schedule - go to bed at the same time every night and get up at the same time every morning.
  • Engage in relaxing activities such as reading, meditating or taking a bath. Try to reduce the amount of time you watch TV or other media.
  • Don't play sports before bedtime. Regular exercise is essential, but if possible, avoid exercising within a few hours of bedtime.
  • The bedroom should be at a comfortable temperature and have low lighting.
  • Reduce alcohol consumption.
