Licorice (Glycyrrhiza glabra) is a species of plant in the bean family (Fabaceae) , genus Licorice (Glycyrrhiza). Licorice is native to Eurasia, central and south-west Asia and the Mediterranean region. Different subspecies of liquorice are mainly cultivated in Iran, Afghanistan, China, Pakistan, Iraq, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Turkey. The main active substance in liquorice root is glycyrrhizin. It is glycyrrhizin that is responsible for the sweet taste of the root, being as much as 50 times sweeter than sucrose.

Ingredients: Water, sugar, Liquorice (Radix Glycyrrhizae glabrae) root – 2 % (3 teaspoons (15 ml) contains 0,3 g of crushed liquorice root), acidacidity regulator citric acid, L-ascorbic acid (3 teaspoons (15 ml) contains 40,5 mg vitamin C (50,6 % NRV*)), preservative sodium benzoate.
Contains liquorice and should be used sparingly by hypertensive patients.

Suggested Use and Dosage: Adults take 1 teaspoon (5 ml) 3 times a day with meals. Do not exceed the recommended dose (15 ml). It should not be used as a food substitute.
